    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Ethylene Elastomer V-belts typically have enhanced resistance to wear, heat, and environmental factors, resulting in longer lifespan and reduced maintenance requirements.

Ethylene Elastomer V-belts have a wider temperature range compared to traditional rubber V-belts. They can operate effectively in temperatures ranging from -60°F to +250°F or -51°C to +121°C.

V-belts like the Super HC Molded Notch (MN) and Tri-Power are ideal for various industries, including automotive, HVAC, food processing, and heavy machinery.

Thanks to their high-performance materials and innovative design, these V-belts have a longer lifespan and require less frequent maintenance compared to traditional belts.

Yes, these V-belts are designed to withstand a wide range of temperatures and have good resistance to occasional exposure to oil and chemicals.

Signs of a worn-out drive belt include squealing or chirping noises, visible cracks, slippage, vibration, or irregular operation of accessories like the alternator.

Always use a belt tension gauge that indicates static tension, such as the Gates Krikit® Tension Gauge, (Part No. 91107 for Standard, Part No. 91132 for Micro-V) to determine proper tension from the Installation Chart. If multiple belts are needed for a drive, divide tension by number of belts to give per belt tension to be measured. Step 1: Position belt and set tension to the prescribed Installation Tension. Step 2: Run belt for five minutes. Step 3: If belt tension drops below Suggested Tension range, retighten belt to Installation Tension. This will allow the belt to seat-in and run at Suggested Tension after it has operated under normal driving conditions.
