| Hangzhou, a scenic city some 180 Km southwest of Shanghai, became the second Chinese city in China to host the prestigious Gates Construction Shop. The first Gates Construction Shop in China opened in Xian last November. A ribbon cutting ceremony on May 26 with Mr. Zeng Zhigang, Vice General Manager of United Bearing Co. Ltd. and Mr. Jay Guddat, Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific from Gates Rubber Company as the distinguished host of the event officially marked the shops opening. Some thirty local guests representing various industries participated in the event and later attended a Gates Safe Hydraulics training session.

| The newly Gates authorized Hangzhou outlet is one of the 22 chain stores across the country owned by United Bearing Co. Ltd., a Shanghai based company specializing in distributing bearings, belts and other power transmission products. In an effort to further expand its US$30 million business, UB sees the opportunities in one of the countries fastest growing industry sectors, the construction equipment replacement part market. UB selects Gates for its best-value construction program.
The Hangzhou shop will provide full range Gates products incl. hydraulic hoses, couplings, equipment, hose assemblies and safe hydraulic training service with focus on construction replacement market in the region. It will also seek to explore business opportunities to service other industry sectors through UB's strong distribution network.
