STD formed a joint partnership with a local company, Cong Ty Tnhh Phat Thinh, to open its 3rd Gates Construction Shop in Vung Tau City, Vietnam on 25th June 2004. This marked the official opening of our 22nd Gates Construction Shop in Asia!

Vung Tau is home to several renowned oil exploration companies. Vietsopetrol, Mitsubishi and Mobil Oil all have solid bases there. STD coined the term: Gates Oilfield Center to better reflect its intention to focus on serving users in this industry.

Some 50 local guests from various major oilfield companies were invited to attend the event. A Gates Oilfield presentation show was presented, followed by Gates products introduction as well as facility tour. The tour also featured a hose crimping demonstration by its qualified hose assembler and was well-received by the guests.

As part of Gates’ full system selling approach, all Gates hoses and fittings supplied from this Center were of genuine and superior quality. The shop was equipped with Gates hose assembly equipment that allows users to access to custom-made assemblies instantly. All sales personnel & hose assemblers were technically trained professional certified by Gates qualified trainer. They have the expertise to resolve technical issues and provide recommendations in accordance to customers’ hydraulic, industrial or oilfield hose requirements.

Gates certified trainers provide free Safe Hydraulic training seminar to educate end users in hose application and maintenance and was available upon request.
