Gates Construction Program, specially tailored for the construction equipment market has generated tremendous interest in China of late. Its 5th Construction Shop in the mainland, Gates 20th in Asia - Guangzhou Artget Technology Company - was officially opened by Mr. Thomas. C. Snyder, Director of Asia from Gates Hose & Connectors Division in Denver, Colorado, USA and Mr. Chen Lixing, Managing Director of Guangzhou Artget on the 5th March 2004.

Some 30 local guests representing various industries attended the successful event which included an official opening and signing ceremony, a company & product introduction as well as a Safe Hydraulics training seminar. It was followed by a formal dinner in the evening.

Guangzhou, located in the southern part of China, is one of the most developed coastal city in China. Artget’s shop opening was very timely as the local government was investing heavily in the infrastructure of the city. For instance, one construction project on highway and subway lines between the downtown and suburb areas has just been approved. High demand of hose products with superior quality will be required by the construction equipment there, together with fast and localized service which Artget is now well positioned to provide.
