V-Belts Launch
Gates invented the V-belt nearly 100 years ago and we've never stopped innovating to make it better, stronger and more capable of handling the heat, chemicals and rigors of the real world. Today our V-belts cover wider power ranges and speeds while running more smoothly and quietly than any other belt on the market.
Gates V- Belts were launched in Infrastructure Segment in India, in Hyderabad, in the first week of September among the Dealers and the Sales & Marketing Team of Gates India. The launch was done by Mr. Jaideep Wadwa, President, Tomkins I&A, who unveiled the product.
The product launch was followed by a technical presentation regarding the product by Mr. V. Sundar, MD, GUIC, followed by a marketing plan of action which was delivered by Mr. Rajesh C. Bhandari, Vice President, S&M. The product range consists of EPDM Belts, Predator Belts, Specialty Belts, High Speed Belts and Light Duty Belts.
EPDM Belts are molded notch V-belts having longer life in extreme conditions, (70% broader temperature range, 3% greater efficiency), attributed to expanded temperature range that resists heat and cracking, Increased flexibility is ideal for small diameter sheaves, reduced bending stress improves efficiency, flex-bonded tensile cords reduce the need to retention, precision-machined sidewalls reduce vibration and wear. Predator® Belt Drives which are the highest power-density V-belt available can handle up to 2.2 times more horsepower than the equivalent size standard V-belt and hence, reduce drive cost by up to 35%, drive width by up to 67% & drive weight by up to 50%. Predator belts have Aramid tensile cords that make it shock-load resistant. Double-layer heavy-duty cover withstands dust, rocks and oil. Over 50% less belt stretch than standard V-belts means low maintenance and multi-layer Power Band ® design reduces vibration and eliminates belt rollover.
To provide belts which suit every need, Gates has a range of Specialty Belts available for specific needs which includes Power Back®, Power Curve® , Power Round®, good for Conveyor applications of all speeds; Dubl-V®, good for transmitting power from both sides of the belt in serpentine applications; Multi-Speed, applicable in all industrial, wide speed-range, open pulley or enclosed device variable speed drives. High-Speed Belts range includes Micro-V®, applicable for higher speeds on smaller diameter sheaves. Exclusive truncated (shortened) rib profile increases flexibility for improved performance and Polyflex®, which is applicable for higher speeds in less space. Unique 60° angle polyurethane construction transmits greater loads in small packages. Light Duty Belts range is ideal for Low-power applications and High-performance results. PoweRated® & Truflex® are included in this range. PoweRated®, are good for higher power, clutching, heavy shock-loaded and back-idler driven lawn and garden equipment. Truflex® is good for powered-cultivators, lawn-mowers, electrical household appliances and heating/air-conditioning equipment. Hence, Gates V- Belts help in improving efficiency, productivity and the bottom line.
