6-time champion looking for seventh!
2009 season follows a remarkable year. Tony Schumacher captured his 6th Top Fuel Championship in 2008—his 5th in a row. En route, he established some other records too:

- Most consecutive final rounds in a season (11)
- Most consecutive Top Fuel victories in a season (7)
- Most consecutive round wins (31)
