Tony Schumacher finished the 2010 NHRA drag racing season in 2nd place. It was the first time in six consecutive years, Schumacher did not finish the Top Fuel Dragster season in the number one spot. He has seven overall championship titles. He vows to regain it in 2011. Schumacher was joined in the top five point finishers by fellow Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) teammates Cory McClenathan (3rd place) and Antron Brown (4th place).

In Funny Car, DSR drivers faired very well too with Matt Hagen finishing in second place, while Jack Beckman ended the season in 4th place and Ron Capps in 7th.

Changes to the DSR program for 2011 include the addition of Spencer Massey who will pilot the Fram Top Fuel dragster. A fourth Funny Car will be added as well. Testing for the 2011 season will take place in the West Palm Beach, FL area prior to the season kick-off race in February in Pomona, CA.

The 2011 season marks Gates 11th year with Don Schumacher Racing. In addition to being an Associate Sponsor of the team, Gates utilizes the hospitality area for customer programs. It also supplies Poly Chain belts for each of the DSR cars.
