Gates Europe N.V. is the European head office of the multinational company, The Gates Corporation, whose headquarters are in Denver, USA. The Gates Corporation is one of the market leaders in the production of hi-tech rubber belts and hoses for industrial, hydraulic, agricultural and automotive applications and is part of Tomkins Plc, a publicly listed company.
In Europe, The Gates Corporation employs about 3,000 people in different production, sales and distribution centers. In Belgium, there are more than 500 employees in the two units in Erembodegem and in the distribution center near Ghent. One of the units in Erembodegem, Gates Power Transmission Europe, is steering activities concerning development, production and sales of belt drives and additional components within Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
