“The Sarge” captured his 6th Top Fuel Championship—and his 5th in a row in 2008.  En route to a Top Fuel best 15 wins in a single season, Schumacher accomplished the most Top Fuel round victories in a single season.  Just as impressive, the team set records for most consecutive final rounds in a season (11) and most consecutive Top Fuel victories in a season (7).


In a span from late June to late September, Schumacher won 31 consecutive rounds, an all-time NHRA best.  Schumacher also passed Top Fuel great Joe Amato for most category wins (56), consecutive Top Fuel championships (5) and most Top Fuel championships in NHRA history (6).


In 2007, for the second time in a row, Schumacher delivered what seemed impossible—clinching yet another world championship title with the final pass of the final race of the year.  In so doing, he won his fourth straight championship.

Schumacher, in 2006, staged the biggest comeback in NHRA history to win his third straight title and fourth of his career.  “The run,” as it became known, required Schumacher to not only win the last race of the season but also to set an NHRA record in the process.


Schumacher holds the NHRA records for quickest run (4.428 e.t.) and fastest (336.15 mph).

“Fast Jack” Beckman, a former Top Fuel racer, finished his third season in Funny Car in 2008.  He had successful seasons in both 2007 and 2008 finishing the season in 5th and 3rd place respectively.   In addition to driving an 8,000 horsepower racecar, Jack is also an instructor at the highly respected Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School where he has taught over 5,000 students.

Beckman holds the speed record in the Funny Car class at 333.66 mph.

Cory McClenathan began his Top Fuel driving career over 25 years ago after getting his start drag racing high-perforamnce Volkswagens.  Since then he has become one of the most popular and accomplished drivers on the NHRA Drag Racing tour.


Since climbing behind the wheel of a Top Fuel dragster in 1991, “Cory Mac” has established himself as one of the best drivers the class has ever seen.  He has amassed 30 victories in 53 final-round appearances, notching 430 career round wins, and competing in 353 races. 


McClenathan has garnered a long list of performance milestones during his Top Fuel career.  He was the first driver to break the 4.80 scond elapsed time barrier with 4.799 second run at Reading, PA in 1992 and was the first driver to eclipse the 320 mph barrier with a speed of 321.77 mph in Dallas in 1997.  He has also won the prestigious U. S. Nationals in Indianaplois twice (1996 and 1999).
