| Transmission oil cooler assemblies - not just at OE dealerships anymore.
Until now, transmission oil cooler assemblies have been a replacement part that Service Technicians have had to source through Original Equipment (OE) dealerships. The traditional aftermarket simply did not have them. Replacement through the OE is slow, expensive and often requires a number of calls to locate the correct part.
Gates offers a solution with the introduction of its new line of Transmission Oil Cooler Assemblies and related parts. For the installer, this new category represents OE quality parts, fit, competitive pricing and availability from a jobber he knows and relies on for other replacement products. And that means faster bay turnaround time.
For the jobber, Gates Transmission Oil Cooler Assemblies and parts represent a category with significant potential for new sales opportunities. The line also expands the parts and service level jobbers can provide their installer customers.
The sales potential is big!
Oil cooler assemblies fail for a variety of reasons. Prolonged exposure to ozone, extreme temperatures and high salt concentrations in the air are typical culprits. Like any part, they do not last forever. It is estimated that the market for transmission oil cooler assemblies and related components is about $25 million in annual sales! Plus, the market is expected to grow, thanks to ever-increasing transmission and engine operating temperatures.
What's included in this new gates line…
The new Gates Transmission Oil Cooler Assemblies category will launch with 40 part numbers but will ultimately consist of 188 assemblies released in several phases over the last half of 2004. Engineered and manufactured to meet or exceed OE specification standards, the line builds on the 30 years of experience that Gates has in making power steering and hydraulic assemblies.

Gates Tube Bender Makes OE-Equivalent TOC Assemblies
Gates new Bend-N-Fit™ tube bender tool allows transmission shops to fabricate their own OE-equivalent transmission oil cooler assemblies, and eliminate the costs and time associated with sourcing dealership parts.
The tube bender is also ideal for making out-of-production and custom assemblies using Gates heat resistant bulk hose, and rust and corrosion resistant tubing. Quick connect and standard fittings, and O-ring, washer and clip kits are also available from Gates.
Gates Bend-N-Fit tube bender can be used with SAE and metric tubing – without changing any tooling - in 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2-in. (6 - 13mm) sizes. Bulk hose is available in 3, 10 and 25-ft. lengths.
