Use Proper Hose On Fuel Injection Systems Catalog PDF - GatesStandard fuel line hose is not built for the throttle body and port fuel injection systems on today's automobiles. Gates engineers recommend SAE30R9 hose as the best choice for reducing comebacks and for extended service life on fuel systems.

Learn about Timing Component Kits

In the aftermarket, warranties are one of the biggest concerns for installers and parts manufacturers. "Job comebacks" greatly reduce productivity and profitability for installers, not to mention the loss of repeat business and negative word of mouth. This is especially true when replacing the timing belt.

Mobile Air Conditioning Society cites Gates research on coolant hose failure

Engineers at The Gates Rubber Company have isolated one of the "root causes of coolant hose failure." Four years of field tests on fleet vehicles show that electrochemical degradation of the hose tube is "by far the major failure mode for cooling system hoses."

The solution? "After four years," Gates explains, "the incidence of hose failure increases sharply to the point where motorists should consider having the hoses replaced to avoid highway problems."
