V Belt Product Overview

Gates is the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial power transmission products. We sell more belts to the industrial market than any other brand.

PROBLEM-SOLVING V BELTS

PowerBand® Belts
Gates invented the “joined” PowerBand concept to solve belt shock-load problems like whip, vibration and turnover. PowerBand belts feature two or more belts “tied” together with a unique cross-cord tie band. Since the belts are physically joined together, they team-up for extra strength, power and durability. Gates PowerBand belts are available in the following constructions:

  • Hi-Power® II
  • Predator®
  • Super HC® & Super HC® Molded Notch belt.

Predator® Belts  These classical and narrow profile v belts are designed for extreme shock loads typically found in rigorous industries like wood and lumber processing, mining, agriculture, oil field equipment and heavy construction. Predator belts have aramid tensile cord reinforcement for extreme strength, and feature a treated fabric cover for superior abrasion resistance.

CarryBand® Belts
Gates CarryBand belts transfer cargo and baggage on modular container equipment. These “joined” belts come with gum rubber ribs to move and support the luggage.

Micro-V® Belts
Gates Micro-V belts run smoother and cooler thanks to a molded rib profile that doesn’t stint on power. In fact, Micro-V belts offer 80 percent higher horsepower capacity than RMA standards. The belts are ideal for smaller-diameter pulleys with backside idlers, offering greater flexibility no matter the speed. Micro-V belts are also longer lasting, too, featuring superior resistance to flex fatigue, shock loads, oil and heat.

PowerRated® V Belt Drives
PoweRated® V belts meet the requirements of higher power, clutching, heavy shock loaded and back idler driven lawn and garden equipment. Gates PoweRated® V belts can be used as a substitute for equivalent sizes of Truflex® belts.

Truflex® V Belt Drives
Truflex® gives optimum service on fractional horsepower V belt drives including back idler applications. Truflex® is recommended for applications such as powered cultivators, lawn mowers, electrical household appliances and heating/airconditioning equipment.

Multi-Speed® V Belts
Gates Multi-Speed belts are best for variable-speed drives. They have maximum flexibility due to a special molded-notch design and bandless construction. Flex-bonded cords and greater lateral rigidity mean they can run longer, smoother and cooler under heavier loads than any other similar belt.

Polyflex® JB™ and Polyflex® V Belt Drives
Gates Polyflex belts are designed for high performance at high speeds. Both are ideal for shorter centers, smaller-diameter sheaves and larger ratios. They are precisely manufactured to provide less vibration and run smoother on high-precision applications like machine tools and computer accessories. The belts also resist flex fatigue, heat, abrasion, ozone and other tough environmental conditions.

NARROW V BELTS

Super HC® and Super HC® Molded Notch V Belts
Save space, weight and dollars with Gates Super HC and Super HC Molded Notch v belts. These belts transmit more horsepower on drives requiring greater speeds, higher-speed ratios or smaller-sheave diameters. Super HC belts feature flex-bonded cords and flex-weave covers for enhanced load-carrying capacity. Super HC Molded Notch belts have specially designed notches and lateral rigidity to support the cord with precision-machined sidewalls for better length control, product uniformity and consistency. Both belts resist the effects of oil, heat, ozone, sunlight, weather and aging. They meet RMA standards for static conductivity and are available in both single strand and PowerBand® “joined” belt configurations.

CLASSIC V BELTS

Hi-Power® II V Belts

Gates Hi-Power II belts are engineered for classical applications. They have concave sidewalls to distribute wear evenly while providing proper belt support for improved service life. Flex-bonded cords and flex-weave covers make them the No. 1 choice for heavy-duty conventional V belt drives. Hi-Power II belts also resist the effects of oil, heat, ozone, weather and aging while meeting RMA standards for static conductivity. Hi-Power II belts are available in both single strand and PowerBand® “joined” belt configurations.

Tri-Power® V Belts
Gates trouble-free Tri-Power belts offer superior performance on heavy-duty drive applications requiring smaller-diameter pulleys. A special notch design, tough flex-bonded cords, precision-machined sidewalls and unique cross-cord construction (for improved lateral rigidity to support the cord) help Tri-Power belts withstand flex fatigue and shock loads for even sheave-wedging action. Tri-Power belts also resist oil, heat, ozone, weather and aging. They also meet RMA standards for static conductivity. Tri-power belts are available in both single strand and PowerBand® “joined” belt configurations.

Hi-Power® II Dubl-V Belts
Gates Hi-Power II Dubl-V belts incorporate all the features and benefits of Hi-Power II belts for added stability and durability on serpentine drives (drives with one or more reverse bends).

Power Cable® V Belts
Get longer service life on severe problem drives with Gates Power Cable belts. Thanks to a special aramid fiber construction, Power Cable belts offer improved flexibility over steel-cord belts. Power Cable belts also resist heat to make them ideal for heavy-shock loaded and fixed-center drives.
