Alternator Decoupler Pulleys

Alternator Decoupler Pulleys reduce noise and vibration for improved accessory belt drive system performance.

The performance gains of Alternator Decouple Pulleys are being recognised by OE manufacturers who are designing them into their vehicles. Now the technology is being used in millions of vehicles around the world.

Micro-V

Gates Alternator Decoupler Pulleys for the automotive aftermarket allow technicians to repair vehicles equipped with these unique pulleys. Replacing the pulley eliminates the need to replace the entire alternator when just the pulley has worn.

Substituting a solid pulley on an alternator that is originally equipped with an Alternator Decoupler Pulley (ADP) will compromise the performance of the entire Accessory Belt Drive System. It is critically important that technicians identify and replace the proper pulley. Replacing the ADP instead of the entire alternator, can save technicians time and save their customers money.

An ADP is much more technologically advanced than other pulleys because it features an internal spring and clutch system that absorbs engine vibration. The performance improvements and longevity benefits include longer life of all the accessory belt drive components, smoother operation and improved engine efficiency.

Why Replace with Gates Alternator Decoupler Pulleys?

  • Replacing the ADP instead of the entire alternator saves you time and your customer hundreds of dollars.
  • Vehicles designed to use ADP’s should never use a Solid or OWC pulley. Parts are not interchangeable, and failure to install correct replacement can cause damage to accessory drive.
